The Boston Celtics are the most storied franchise in the NBA, and as such, they’ve had some legendary scorers wearing that jersey.
Needless to say, they hope Jayson Tatum can follow those footsteps, honor their history, and go down as one of the greatest scorers to ever do it once it’s all said and done.
And things have gone well thus far for the former No. 3 pick, as he’s already left his mark in the league despite not being around for that long.

As a matter of fact, StatMuse reported that Tatum is actually leading the NBA in playoff points since he entered the league in 2017.
Notably, Tatum’s critics have often deemed him a playoff choker, and he’s had some head-scratching performances in the postseason, including in last year’s NBA Finals.
But he’s also been one of the most consistent scorers in the league from day one, and perhaps the main reason why the Celtics have managed to be a perennial playoff team since he entered the NBA.
It feels like Tatum is a veteran already because he entered the league at such a young age, but he’s still just 25 years old, so he hasn’t even reached his ceiling yet.
The Celtics are facing the nearly-impossible task of becoming the first team to ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in NBA playoff history but even if they don’t pull it off, the fans can rest assured that Tatum will lead them to many more NBA Finals runs in years to come.
