Jayson Tatum’s time in the 2024 Paris Olympics has been under a lot of scrutiny and people are still arguing about how much he played.

But the bottom line is that he and Team USA won a gold medal, which is a major feat for the Boston Celtics star.

According to Courtside Buzz, Tatum is one of just three players in NBA history who have made the All-NBA First Team, won an NBA title and won a gold medal in the same year.

Tatum joins LeBron James from the 2011-12 season and Michael Jordan from 1991-92.

That is some elite and special company for Tatum.

The gold medal caps off the most impressive and important year of Tatum’s young career.

He posted amazing numbers of 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game during the regular season.

He helped lead the Celtics to the top of the Eastern Conference and guided them through the playoffs.

They had a fairly easy time reaching the 2024 NBA Finals and then beating the Dallas Mavericks.

After years of coming close, Tatum and his Celtics are now champions.

Tatum didn’t play much in Paris and many people are still very upset at head coach Steve Kerr about that.

But he did get some time on the court, even though he occasionally struggled with his shot.

Regardless, Team USA was able to beat France and head home with a gold medal.

That means that Tatum’s historic season just got even more special.

Every NBA star wants to have something in common with James and Jordan, and now Tatum does.
