Jaylen Brown impressed many NBA fans recently during his appearance at the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
During that game, Brown put up 36 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
According to Bill Simmons, via Legion Hoops, he spent more time on the court than originally planned.
Simmons said that Jayson Tatum approached Eastern Conference All-Star head coach Doc Rivers and made a simple demand.
“Give Jaylen [Brown] my minutes, I want to see him win MVP,” he reportedly said.

Tatum played 21 minutes and 35 seconds while Brown ended up with 22 minutes and 14 seconds, so it sounds like Rivers listened to Tatum and gave Brown more minutes during the game.
In the end, Brown did well but he didn’t ultimately win MVP, which instead went to Damian Lillard, who put up 39 points and 6 assists.
The East easily took down the West during that game, scoring a historic 211 points to the West’s 186.
It was a great night for Eastern Conference players and a good weekend for Brown, who also participated in the dunk contest just one night before.
This tidbit about Tatum shows how close he and Brown have become during their years together leading the Boston Celtics.
They have created and continue to maintain a close friendship and affinity for one another.
For the season, Brown is posting 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 49.5% from the field.
The duo of Tatum and Brown has been successful for years but this might be their best season yet.
They are the greatest team in the NBA right now and hold a strong 45-12 record.
Not only is the team playing well, but the stars in Boston seem to genuinely like one another, which only helps them.
