The Boston Celtics currently have a 12-3 record, which makes them the best team in the entire league right now.
The Celtics are the top seed in the Eastern Conference as well.
While many players on the team have contributed to this amazing start to the 2023-24 NBA season, the primary credit goes to none other than Jayson Tatum.
Speaking of Tatum, ahead of the Celtics’ upcoming matchup against the Orlando Magic in the NBA In-Season Tournament, the 25-year-old answered which celebrity he would like to play against in a 1-on-1 situation, via the NBA’s official Twitter handle.
Which celebrity would Jayson Tatum want to play 1v1?
Hint: he’s a rapper…
The Celtics can clinch East Group C and advance to the Knockout Round with a win over the Magic!

Tatum took his time before answering the question and ultimately picked American rapper J. Cole as his dream 1-on-1 celebrity rival.
J. Cole could prove to be a good match for Tatum as the rapper played basketball during his college days.
In fact, Cole had brief stints in the Basketball Africa League and Canadian Elite Basketball League as well.
Sure, he was never talented enough to make it to the NBA like Tatum, but the 1-on-1 matchup could be one for the ages.
But at the end of the day, Tatum will have a huge advantage over Cole if the two ever engage in a 1-on-1 matchup.
As for Tatum in the 2023-24 NBA season, he’s averaging 27.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game for the Celtics.
Considering the Celtics currently have the best record in the league, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Tatum’s name come up in the NBA MVP debate over the next few months.
