The last few months have been an absolute whirlwind for Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum, who went from leading the storied NBA franchise to a league-record 18th title and rarely seeing the basketball floor on Team USA during the 2024 Olympics.
As if Tatum hadn’t already proven himself as one of the best players in the world by helping make the Celtics one of the best teams in the league year after year, winning his first title was thought to be enough to merit playing time on Steve Kerr’s American squad in Paris, France.
Even though watching from the bench for the majority of the Olympics was admittedly a humbling experience for the NBA superstar, Tatum is still enjoying all that comes with winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
On Sunday, Tatum had the honor of throwing out the first pitch, along with NHL star Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers, at a St. Louis Cardinals game via Sportsnet.

Although Tatum is all-in with the Celtics and has embraced the city of Boston as his new home, the reigning NBA champion is from St. Loius and always makes a point of expressing how much he loves his hometown.
With Tatum winning an NBA title and a gold medal, the Celtics superstar is currently on top of the world, even though he went through a humbling experience with Team USA, which seemed to make headlines on a daily basis because he wasn’t getting the playing time that fans thought he deserved.
Tatum will likely use that experience overseas as motivation heading into the 2024-25 NBA season, where the Celtics will try to repeat.
