The Boston Celtics’ decision to draft Jayson Tatum using the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft turned out to be one of the wisest decisions of the franchise in this era.

Over the course of his career, Tatum has only gotten better and has even helped the Celtics reach the 2022 NBA Finals, albeit losing against the Golden State Warriors.

Despite having a sensational career in the league and not missing the postseason even once during his time in the NBA, many seem to take Tatum’s talent for granted.

In fact, the 4x NBA All-Star recently shared his thoughts on fans taking him for granted via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston on Twitter.

“I don’t look for that praise anymore… truly at that point where… I want to help us win a championship,” Tatum said.

Jayson Tatum is currently playing in the seventh season of his NBA career, and at this point, he simply doesn’t care about that shallow praise.

Instead, the Celtics superstar is focused on trying to help the organization win its first NBA Championship since 2008.

This season, Tatum is averaging a sensational 27.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game for the Celtics.

Tatum’s numbers have helped the Celtics stay as the number one seed in the Eastern Conference with a league-best 28-7 record this season.

Moreover, apart from Tatum, the Celtics have the likes of Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jrue Holiday on the roster as well.

Can Jayson Tatum finally win the first NBA Championship of his career this season? All things considered, the Boston Celtics are the flat-out favorites to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy in the summer of 2024.
