The Utah Jazz continue to make moves for the future.
Danny Ainge knows his team might not have a chance to compete at the highest level just yet, and he’s being very crafty and thorough about every piece on their roster.
Unfortunately, that means he had no choice but to part ways with a fan favorite who might not have an actual place in the league.
As reported by NBA Central on Twitter, the Jazz have officially parted ways with Kenneth Lofton Jr.

Contrary to popular belief, he’s not just a physical presence who bullies his way to the rim.
He has impressive footwork, fundamentals, and a high basketball IQ.
Still, even though he’s made great strides as a rebounder, he’s still undersized on defense, and he’s not laterally fast enough to be a factor on that end of the floor, either.
While his physical dominance is more than evident, his game might not be suited for the NBA.
He has always had a green light to pull up from all over the court, but he hasn’t been able to develop an outside shot either, thus making him a bit of an odd fit for the modern NBA.
Lofton Jr. might still find another opportunity in the league, but his game seems to be tailor-made for international basketball.
Wherever he lands, he’ll most definitely have plenty of fans still rooting for him.
