It’s been a long while since the New England Patriots were last a Super Bowl contender.
Needless to say, that’s usually what happens when you fail to replace your first-ballot Hall-of-Famer quarterback.
The Pats have struggled mightily to put up points on the scoreboard and keep the chains in motion.
And while Jacoby Brissett is a proven veteran and might be the best quarterback they’ve had since Tom Brady left, he still has a low ceiling, and he’s there more as a mentor and a stopgap than an actual solution at the position.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that HC Jerod Mayo wants to establish the run.
Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, the former defensive player made it loud and clear that the Patriots were going to be a run-heavy team, adding that he’s already let the players know that.
What will be the IDENTITY of this #Patriots offense in 2024??

Mayo also claimed that they were going to be a ‘game-plan’ kind of team and that they would change their defensive approach every week, depending on who they come across.
The Patriots are expected to be solid defensively.
Mayo is Bill Belichick’s heir, and as such, he’s going to put an emphasis on that side of the field.
Drake Maye still isn’t ready to take the field, and he might not be out there at all during his rookie season.
Until that happens, the Patriots will most likely rely on the running game early and often, so keep their running backs near the top of your fantasy football draft list.
