The Dallas Cowboys’ current roster could be heading into its last season intact, as pass rusher Micah Parsons, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott are all seeking contract extensions.
The three are arguably the best and most valuable players the Cowboys have, and losing even one of them would be a massive blow to their future Super Bowl hopes.
Controversial Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said there hasn’t been any real progress on extension talks with either Lamb or Prescott, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.
“I would say that we’re talking. I would not have a legitimate progress point there at all,” Jones said of Prescott. “And I really don’t have it for Lamb, either. And it’s not negative. I’m just thinking it wouldn’t do any good to talk about progress.”

Cowboys fans like to think Lamb is the best wideout in the NFL right now, and perhaps they have a legitimate argument.
Last season, he led the league with 135 receptions and was second with 1,749 receiving yards while scoring 14 total touchdowns, and he made both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro First Team.
Prescott, meanwhile, led the league with 410 completed passes and 36 touchdown passes while accumulating 4,516 passing yards, and he became a leading MVP candidate for a period of time late last season.
There has been plenty of speculation that, for whatever reason, perhaps Prescott will not receive an extension and will have to play out the final year of his contract and then become a free agent in 2025.
That scenario would mean 2024 could be his final season in Dallas.
The Cowboys are in dire need of good news and good fortune after a very promising 2023 season ended with a loud thud when they were routed in the wild-card round of the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers.
But right now, there is a dark cloud hanging over the franchise, and it could turn into a storm not too long from now.
