The Dallas Cowboys desperately need to get back on track after yet another heartbreaking loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Niners have ended their season in back-to-back years, and they made sure to make a statement in their latest matchup.

When asked about it, team owner Jerry Jones told Jon Machota of The Athletic that he still hasn’t gotten over that 42-10 loss, adding that he doesn’t know how one can get over something like this.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on the 42-10 loss to the 49ers: “I haven’t gotten over that. I don’t know that you get over those. You shouldn’t. … We learned a lot. We looked at last year’s playoff game and used that as our template (going into last weekend’s game).…

Jones stated that the team studied last season’s playoff loss thoroughly to put together their template for Week 5’s matchup, tipping his hat to the Niners for being a different team this time.

The controversial team owner also said that he thinks his team can play a lot better than that, which, in all honesty, is an understatement.

Personnel-wise, there’s no reason why the Cowboys couldn’t at least make it a competitive game against the Niners.

Granted that Kyle Shahanan has one of the most — if not the most — talented rosters in the league, but the Cowboys also have plenty of talent.

Once again, pundits and fans have questioned and pointed the finger at HC Mike McCarthy and QB Dak Prescott as the two main things holding them back, as they just can’t seem to be up to the task when they go against winning teams.

The Cowboys are now 3-2 and are no longer a lock to be a playoff team.

But they do have enough talent in their ranks to turn things around and right the ship.
