Jerry Jones Reveals His Thoughts On Dak Prescott’s Next Contract

The Dallas Cowboys entered the season with plenty of doubts about the future of the quarterback position.

Dak Prescott had vowed to throw fewer interceptions this season, but he struggled mightily in training camp and at the beginning of the campaign.

Speculation reached an all-time high when Jerry Jones decided to trade for Trey Lance, and it seemed like patience was running out on Prescott.

Fast forward to today, and the former fourth-round pick is playing like the best quarterback in the league and is currently the leading MVP candidate, putting all those doubts at ease.

Talking on 105.3 The Fan, the controversial owner stated that the discussions were ‘meaningless’ right now, adding that the team knows exactly where they are in terms of the contract and that they’ve been quite close in their communication with Prescott’s camp (via Jon Machota).

Dak’s current contract drew plenty of criticism at the time, but it’s looking like a bargain right now, as it happened right before the quarterback market exploded.

But now that he’s having the best season of his career, that might not be the case anymore.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that Prescott could take a hometown discount to give his team a helping hand, salary-cap wise.

For now, however, this is all speculation, and we’ll just have to wait and see how this thing unfolds.
