Jerry West is an undeniable NBA legend and one of the most important men to ever play the game of basketball.

Historians will always rank him among the best of the best.

But if you ask West how he feels about his all-time ranking in the history of the league, he has a very frank and humble answer.

“I’ve been one of those people fortunate enough that I guess my ego’s not big enough to even care about that stuff,” West told Dan Patrick on his show about his place among other icons in the league.

Jerry West explains why he doesn’t care about where he’s ranked all-time in NBA history.

West, who is now a consultant for the Los Angeles Clippers, has been part of the NBA since 1960.

He was picked as the second overall pick in that year’s draft and went directly to the Los Angeles Lakers.

That is where he played for 14 years and earned one championship, one Finals MVP, as well as 14 All-Star selections.

Following that, he remained close to the Lakers and was their head coach for three years before becoming a player scout for three more.

He was named the team’s general manager in 1982 and the team won six championships with him in that position.

He has bounced around the league lately, working for the Grizzlies and now Clippers.

And even at 85 years old, West is still passionate about the game.

He told Patrick that passion was really important back in the 1960s when he first joined the league.

West said that players weren’t paid particularly well back then and had very little control over their destiny in the league.

They played the game not for money but because they truly loved it.

All these years later, it is very clear that West still adores the game that gave him so much.
