The New York Jets traded for Haason Reddick hoping that he would become a factor on their championship-caliber defense.

That hasn’t been the case thus far.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star has yet to show up to the team.

He’s pushing them to get a new contract, and he will reportedly not report until he gets one.

The Jets, however, don’t want to play ball.

According to a report by Rich Cimini of ESPN, they’ve already taken a hard stance regarding his situation.

#Jets officials haven’t commented on the Reddick holdout, but sources say their position is this:

No show, no deal. They want him in camp before they negotiate.https://t.co/lwT2QgQhRs

While their officials haven’t openly commented on it, they’ve made it loud and clear that they won’t even engage in contract talks with Reddick if he doesn’t show up.

The Jets inherited Reddick’s contract situation from the Eagles, and they wouldn’t have traded for him with one year left in his contract if they didn’t want him there for the long run.

He’s one of the best pass rushers in the game, but the Jets have more than enough on that side of the field to get by just fine without him.

He, on the other hand, risks not cashing in on this year’s salary.

NFL teams will draw a line in the sand at some point, as it seems like every single player is trying to impose their will on them despite being under contract, and it’s got to stop eventually.
