Superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers has let it be known that he intends to play for the New York Jets next season.

Despite Rodgers finally making his decision on what direction he wants to take in his NFL career, the Green Bay Packers have yet to agree to terms with the Jets on a deal to send him to New York.

With one month left until the 2023 NFL Draft on April 27, the clock is ticking on the draft picks that will likely be included in this blockbuster trade.

However, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Jets general manager Joe Douglas claims there’s no sense of urgency in trade talks to acquire Rodgers.

Douglas says no sense of urgency in Rodgers talks. Not where they need to be, he says. Won’t comment on whether he’s willing to part with No. 1 pick. No formal talks planned at owners meetings. #Jets

Along with addressing the trade talks involving the acquisition of Rodgers, the Jets made it clear that they are not pursuing Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

Jackson let it be known on Monday that he did indeed ask the Ravens to trade him, which obviously changes the quarterback landscape in the NFL when it comes to teams who want a win-now player under center.

As for Rodgers, the waiting game continues in what has turned out to be a drawn-out process.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that this deal between Green Bay and New York falls apart before next month’s draft.

No sense of urgency in trade talks with a ticking clock is not a good sign, as this could end up being a disaster for both teams if it indeed falls apart between now and draft day.
