On Sunday night, the New York Jets were slightly favored on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium, even though Maxx Crosby and company seemed reinvigorated due to the recent regime change.
Even though the Jets have had to play without superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers since the team’s first series of the season against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, backup quarterback Zach Wilson has been able to shoulder the load enough to keep this team in playoff contention.
The Jets came into this Sunday night showdown with the Raiders with a 4-4 record and high hopes of getting above .500 heading into the second half of the 2023 campaign.
Unfortunately, in a game filled with field goals and penalties, the Raiders were able to come out on top as a result of one touchdown pass thrown by rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell to fellow rookie Michael Mayer and a late-game interception by linebacker Robert Spillane.
The Jets had the opportunity to get the win on the final drive with Wilson in control under center, but his interception to Spillane proved to be the nail in the coffin for New York.
With Wilson throwing that costly late-game interception, head coach Robert Saleh was asked if a change at quarterback would be made, but he’s sticking with the former first-round pick and gave him some praise for playing well in Week 10, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Jets’ HC Robert Saleh told reporters today that he’s sticking with Zach Wilson as his starting QB. “He’s actually playing pretty well,” Saleh said.

Even though the Jets lost for the fifth time this season, Wilson did play well against a very hungry Raiders team led by Crosby and Davante Adams.
The outcome could’ve been much different had one or two things gone their way, which means it wasn’t entirely Wilson’s fault that they came away empty-handed in Week 10.
