Many NFL head coaches are known to have a few quirks about them.
Whether it’s uber-specific team rules, interesting policies, or even unique mannerisms, head coaches seem to get a lot of flak.
Some of Sean Payton’s rules have recently been publicized, according to the NFL Network’s own, James Palmer.
As Palmer indicated, Payton doesn’t allow sunglasses or bucket hats during preseason games, along with in-game interviews.
In the New York Jets‘ recent preseason game, sophomore standout Garrett Wilson was seen violating all of these rules.
As PFF’s official account mentions, it might be a good thing Wilson isn’t a member of the Denver Broncos.

Whether Wilson’s attire was a coincidence remains to be seen.
Many around the media believe that Wilson was intentionally trying to mock Payton, seemingly with the belief that these rules are ridiculous.
The Broncos found themselves under scrutiny during the 2022 season, largely due to their poor record.
Payton has been tasked with righting this ship, a roster that has massive expectations with Russell Wilson at the helm.
Will his strict rules yield the results that the organization is desperately searching for?
There are just a few weeks until the regular season begins, and fans won’t have to wait long for these results.
Wilson and the Jets also have just a few weeks to prepare for what could be a massive season.
The Jets are working desperately to break their 12-year playoff drought.
Can both teams make the playoffs in 2023, knowing the overall strength of the AFC?
