The Miami Heat had some tough luck in the first round.
Losing Jimmy Butler pretty much sealed their fate vs. the Boston Celtics and, once again, it raised questions about this team’s talent — or lack thereof — and whether they’ll be able to get over the hump any time soon.
There have also been some rumors and chatter about Butler’s future with the organization, with some thinking they could trade him.
Also, Pat Riley taking a jab at him for the way he trolled the Celtics despite not being on the court may have added more fuel to that fire.
Nonetheless, NBA insider Shams Charania doesn’t see a move happening any time soon.
Talking on FanDuel’s “Run It Back,” Charania stated that Butler has always talked about his desire to stay with the Heat for the long run.

He also claimed that Riley said that they didn’t have to make a decision about him right away, as they could simply wait until next season.
Butler has stayed with the Heat through thick and thin, and he hasn’t complained about their roster even when they’ve failed to acquire more stars like Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard.
Also, even though he’s been hurt, he’s third in games played for the team since he arrived, and he’s led them to two trips to the NBA Finals in five seasons.
Butler seems tailor-made for the organization and vice versa, and it’s hard to envision him going somewhere else at this point in his career.
