Now that the Phoenix Suns have officially parted ways with Chris Paul, multiple teams could be in the market for the veteran point guard.

Naturally, the two teams from Los Angeles have been rumored to be keeping tabs on his situation, and rightfully so.

Not only has Paul been tied to those teams for a decade now, but his family still lives in L.A. from his days with the Los Angeles Clippers.

However, as much sense as a potential reunion with the Clippers makes, former NBA player JJ Redick believes that the Los Angeles Lakers are actually a better fit for him right now.

Redick stated that the Lakers’ No. 1 priority should be to re-sign both Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura and then pursue Paul.

Paul’s ability to play in the pick-and-roll would help both LeBron James and Anthony Davis thrive on the offensive end of the floor, and Redick believes they’d give him a better shot at winning an NBA championship — at least when it comes to next season.

Of course, both teams would first have to wait until the Washington Wizards either waive him or buy him out, and he becomes a free agent, as neither has the cap space to absorb his salary as things stand right now.

Paul isn’t getting any younger and has struggled to stay on the floor as of late, but he’s still one of the best playmakers in the history of the game, so he’s obviously more than worth the risk.
