The Los Angeles Lakers got a bit of a sniper in the first round of the NBA Draft.
Landing Dalton Knecht was a big steal for Rob Pelinka and his team, and he looked ecstatic to join one of the winningest franchises in the league.
More than that, it seems like JJ Redick was also thrilled to know that he would get to work with a fellow sharpshooter.
According to Lakers insider Jovan Buha, Redick has already started drawing up pindowns and ATO sets for his new player.
Rob Pelinka said coach JJ Redick immediately began drawing up pindowns and ATO sets on a whiteboard for Knecht for next season.

We don’t know whether JJ Redick will be a good coach or if Dalton Knecht will be a good NBA player.
What we do know is that it is hard to think of a better mentor for a guy like Knecht than Redick, who made a living out of knocking down shots from the perimeter for 15 years in the league.
Redick is obsessed with tactics and analytics, and he’s clearly looking to get a jump start on his coaching tenure.
His lack of previous coaching experience is obviously a major concern, and some wonder whether he’ll be able to win over the locker room, given his relationship with LeBron James.
Then again, he was there in the trenches as well and should know how to talk to the players.
And if his great eye for the game as an analyst translates to his coaching, there’s no reason to believe this team won’t be, at the very least, better than it was under Darvin Ham.
