With the Los Angeles Lakers hiring JJ Redick, one big question remained.

How would he deal with his career as a podcaster?

Redick was a pioneer in this scene, joining the podcast wave while he was still an active player, and he has quite the following on his projects.

Unfortunately for his fans, it might take a while before he’s back in business.

During his introductory press conference with the Lakers, he admitted that he is done with the content scene, meaning he’s done podcasting for the time being (Via Darren Haynes & NBA Central).

Redick claimed that he hoped that this would be a long-lasting partnership, adding that he might do some videos when he has some time on his hands, but nothing more than that.

Of course, that was expected.

Redick will have his hands full with everything that comes with being an NBA coach, particularly the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

For years, he showcased his skills as an analyst and proved to be a bit of a basketball junky, especially with the Xs and Os.

Nonetheless, besides coaching a young travel team, he has no experience whatsoever, and that was a concern about this hire.

So, for those who got hooked on his podcast with LeBron James, they’ll have to settle for the episodes they’ve already aired and play them on repeat, at least for as long as this lasts.
