The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t want to rest on their laurels and just hope Adrian Griffin would figure things out at some point in the season.
However, things haven’t looked much better under Doc Rivers, with the team being 3-7 since he took the reins of the squad.
Notably, it didn’t take long before Rivers seemed to throw his players under the bus, talking about some of them being ready to be on vacation before the All-Star break and talking about how difficult it is to take over a team midseason.
That’s why his former player, JJ Redick, just couldn’t take it anymore.
Talking on ESPN’s First Take, the retired sharpshooter put him on blast, urging him to be accountable for a change and stop making excuses.
“I’ve seen the trend for years. The trend is always making excuses,” Redick said.

Redick said that it’s always the same trend with Rivers, adding that he knows how difficult it is to take over a team mid-season because it’s also hard for a player to be traded mid-season.
Truth be told, the Bucks have more than enough talent to be a championship-contending team, including two superstars.
They’ve blown big leads and lost to decimated teams since Rivers took the reins, and that should be on the coach.
Rivers has developed a bad reputation in the league for throwing his players under the bus and blowing playoff leads, and some question the fact that he continues to land on his feet and get new coaching jobs regardless.
This time, however, could be the end of the line for him.
