It is always interesting to hear the opinions of commentators when it comes to certain fan bases and sports cities.
Joe Buck, who is one of the most popular announcers and voices in all of sports, recently chatted about what it’s like to be around Philadelphia sports fans.
“If I saved a busload of kittens from drowning in the river, I still think I’d get booed,” Buck said on Take Off with John Clark.

The city of Philadelphia is quite famous or infamous, depending on how you look at it, for being a passionate sports city.
Whether it is the Eagles, the Phillies, the Flyers, the 76ers, etc., fans are known for showing up in droves to support and go to bat for their team.
Buck has called many NFL and MLB games in Philadelphia over his storied broadcasting career, so he knows what it’s like to be in such a hostile and electric environment.
There aren’t many major sports cities that bring the energy that Philly brings.
Of course, there are passionate fans in major cities such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. that always bring the energy into the building to support their beloved teams.
But as Buck knows all too well, the energy and fandom in the City of Brotherly Love just feels different.
Along with Pro Football Hall-of-Famer and color commentator Troy Aikman, Buck is slated to call Falcons-Eagles in Philadelphia on Monday Night Football in Week 2.
Rest assured knowing that the fans will show up and show out in prime time under the lights for their Eagles.
