Over the past couple of years, the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs have developed one of the most entertaining rivalries in the National Football League.
Joe Burrow and company held bragging rights over Andy Reid’s team, beating them three times in a row before the Chiefs finally got back at them en route to a Super Bowl trip.
Burrow is one of just two quarterbacks to have beaten Mahomes in the playoffs, with Tom Brady being the other.
That’s why even though the Chiefs are the back-to-back defending champions, the former No. 1 pick still likes his team’s chances against them any day of the week.
Speaking to the Kelce brothers on their New Heights podcast, Burrow praised Mahomes and the Chiefs but stated that their roster is built to take them down (Via Around the NFL):
“I think we both work really hard. They have great players, we have great players,” Burrow said. “I think we match up pretty well with them. I think we’re built to beat them. I always appreciate the legendary battles we have. Guys are out there always making plays. Patrick (Mahomes) is always out there making plays. Both teams have big-time defensive lines. It’s a great matchup.”

Truth be told, the Bengals do match up nicely with the Chiefs, and they also happen to have arguably the second-best quarterback in the game, which obviously helps.
With a healthy Burrow, the Bengals are a force to be reckoned with and, along with the Buffalo Bills, perhaps the only team that has consistently given the Chiefs a run for their money.
The Bengals will look to get back to the playoffs after an injury-riddled campaign for their star quarterback, and taking down the back-to-back Super Bowl champions in their pursuit of a three-peat would definitely help them get some attention.
Now, Burrow and his guys have to put their money where their mouths are.
