An immediate panic set in when Joe Burrow went down during the early stages of Cincinnati Bengals training camp.

He has been a catalyst of change for an organization that routinely found itself as a bottom feeder.

Burrow’s timeline to return to play was largely unknown at the time, and he hasn’t spoken much publically about the situation.

That all changed in a recent press conference.

According to Ian Rapoport, Burrow said that he is “ready to go,” and “expecting to play” in the Bengals’ opener against the Cleveland Browns.

A sigh of relief for Bengals fans.

Burrow is the heart and soul of this city and has instituted life into this football team.

If he does play against the Browns, it gives the Bengals that much better of an opportunity to win the game and start the season on the right foot.

The Browns are a division rival for the Bengals, and many expect them to be improved from their 2022 season.

Even though Burrow might not be in 100% health, the inner competitor in him will not want to lose this game against the Browns.

Another factor in Burrow playing in this contest could be his contract, as he has not signed an extension yet.

However, he reiterated during this press conference that this is “the last thing I’m thinking about right now.”

Burrow has seen Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson all receive massive extensions during the 2023 offseason.

When his time comes, many are expecting this contract to be another record-breaker given his early success.
