Joe Burrow Makes Honest Admission About First Ravens Matchup

The Cincinnati Bengals were far from the team they are right now early in the season.

Having Joe Burrow playing on one leg severely hampered their ability to play at their usual level, up to the point where some thought they wouldn’t even be able to make the playoffs.

That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see them struggle mightily vs. the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.

Nonetheless, a lot has transpired ever since, and that rematch vs. Lamar Jackson shouldn’t be easy for John Harbaugh’s team at all.

When asked about that, Burrow admitted that he didn’t have “his full toolbox” for that matchup (via ProFootballTalk).

“I didn’t quite have my full toolbox in there,” Burrow said. “I thought we did some good things in the second half. The first half we didn’t have a ton of plays. They did a good job.”

Burrow wasn’t as mobile as usual due to that calf injury.

The Bengals trailed, 27-17, early in the fourth quarter.

Burrow still managed to make it a close game by finding Tee Higgins for a touchdown with just over three minutes left to play, but the Ravens were able to drain out the clock to get a three-point win.

The former No. 1 pick finished the game with 27 completions on 41 throws for 222 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, which is quite notable if you consider the context, how hurt he was, and the Ravens’ solid defense.

The Ravens are fresh off a heartbreaking divisional loss to the Cleveland Browns, so they’re going to be very locked in.

All their losses have come from blown leads, and the Bengals will also look to be quite aggressive after a heartbreaking home loss to the Houston Texans, so this will be a must-watch matchup.
