Joe Flacco Reveals His Thoughts On Potential 18-Game Schedule

It is always interesting to hear the opinion of an experienced player when it comes to the popular topic of an 18-game NFL season.

Super Bowl champion and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Joe Flacco gave his latest take on that idea if it were to take place.

“If they want to do it, then they’re going to do it, and we’re probably going to have to adapt to it,” Flacco recently told NFL on CBS out at Lake Tahoe.

Colts QB Joe Flacco on rumors of a potential 18-game NFL schedule:

“It just kind of seems like it is what it is…If they want to do it, then they’re going to do it, and we’re probably going to have to adapt to it.” pic.twitter.com/JjLOjXn8B3

That sounds about right.

The most important thing when it comes to major sports leagues is money.

How can they bring in more money to keep the league going at a better-than-ever clip?

Another regular season game would certainly rake in more money for the league.

More nationally-televised games, more viewers tuning in, more tickets being purchased, etc.

The league is going to do what it does, and the players usually just have to adjust.

His concern with player health makes sense too seeing as this is arguably the most physical sport in the world.

The players had to adjust when the league made the call to go from 16 regular season games in 2020 to 17 regular season games in 2021.

Now, there is a chance that the players may need to adjust again in the coming years.

For now, the total game count is staying at 17, and players and coaches can only worry about that at the moment.

But rest assured knowing that an 18-game regular season is on the come-up for the National Football League.
