The Golden State Warriors’ dynasty has been limping lately, and they have had to endure many trade rumors as a result.
Many have said they should bite the bullet and trade mainstays such as Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green in order to reload and become very competitive again.
If they don’t do so, the feeling is they will sink into the NBA’s basement for who knows how long.
But owner Joe Lacob says that will not happen on his watch, per NBC Sports.
“I won’t settle for that. We’re not doing that,” Lacob said.

“We are the Golden State Warriors,” Lacob told ESPN. “I believe in the culture. I believe that word gets out. I could go on and on. I’m not trying to brag. I’m just saying, that’s who we are.
Just two seasons ago, the Warriors won their fourth NBA championship in eight seasons, and with the emergence of younger players such as Wiggins and the potential of newcomers such as Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, the immediate future looked bright for them.
But last season, they devolved into a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde team, playing well at home but poorly on the road, and they lost in the second round of the playoffs.
So far this season, they’re just 27-26 and in 10th place in the Western Conference.
While they have won eight of their last 10 games, the rest of the conference has improved, and there are new contenders, including the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder, who have the two best records in the West.
Thompson isn’t the player he used to be prior to his ACL and Achilles injuries a few years ago, and it has been a major impediment for Golden State.
While the team has to still be taken seriously this postseason, it clearly is rusting over.
