The Philadelphia 76ers are playoff bound once again, with superstars Joel Embiid and James Harden becoming one of the league’s best one-two punches in the league today.

Along with Harden coming into his own in his role in Philadelphia, Embiid seems to improve every year, with the 2022-23 NBA season arguably being his best thus far.

After falling short to Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic in the NBA MVP race the last two years, the 29-year-old hopes this year will be the year he finally gets recognition as the league’s most valuable player.

Embiid recently told Showtime’s Rachel Nichols what it would mean to win the regular-season award finally.

With the 2022-23 NBA regular season officially over, Embiid is expected to be a finalist for MVP, with many believing he is the favorite to win the newly named Michael Jordan Trophy.

Even though Harden has had a sizable impact on the team’s success this season, Embiid is the main reason Philadelphia is firing on all cylinders and is considered a legitimate title contender this year and possibly for the foreseeable future.

Embiid is putting up solid numbers across the board, with the Kansas product averaging a career-high 33.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 54.8% from the floor and 33.7% from beyond the arc.

With Jokic having another strong season for the Nuggets, averaging nearly a triple-double and leading his team to the top seed in the Western Conference, Embiid has some competition again.

However, the consensus seems that it is Embiid’s award to lose at this point.
