The Philadelphia 76ers just got their best player back.
Joel Embiid is back doing Joel Embiid things, and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the league.
Notably, the reigning MVP has been quite busy as of late.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he’s expected to be the new face of Skechers basketball after signing a multi-year endorsement deal with the brand (via Run It Back).

Charania revealed that Embiid had been trying different sneakers since October, and he’s finally found a new model for him.
He added that Julius Randle and Terance Mann are also a part of Skechers basketball, but Embiid is expected to be at the forefront of their strategy.
Embiid has struggled with injuries throughout the course of his entire career, so this was definitely a risky bet by Skechers.
That’s similar to what happened with Stephen Curry when he joined Under Armor, as he had struggled with ankle injuries before finally settling in and finding the right sneaker for him.
The Sixers need Embiid to be on the court as often as possible.
They’re currently likely to partake in the Play-In Tournament, and facing the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs isn’t the kind of prize or reward any team would want.
Then again, they almost knocked them out last season and now have a significantly better coach in Nick Nurse, so if Embiid is able to get his rhythm back before the playoffs, they might still have a chance.
