The Philadelphia 76ers find themselves in a precarious position as the other Eastern Conference powers have added impactful players to their rosters.
The Milwaukee Bucks made the first splash move by agreeing to a blockbuster trade to acquire Damian Lillard, while the Boston Celtics countered by trading for Jrue Holiday and shoring up their backcourt.
Meanwhile, the 76ers have been mired in drama regarding their own star guard as James Harden is still intent on being traded.
Harden was upset about his contract this past free agency and thus asked out.
Daryl Morey has refused to trade Harden, however, and Philadelphia seems intent on keeping him until the right deal comes along.
Joel Embiid has been forced to watch the situation unfold the past couple of months and had an interesting response to it all via his Twitter account.
This off-season was fun lmao

Embiid’s tweet can easily be interpreted as sarcasm as his team failed to make the same kind of splashy move to improve their title odds.
The 76ers were bounced from the playoffs in the second round again and as things currently stand it’s hard to imagine them getting over that hump if they run into the Bucks or Celtics.
If Philadelphia flames out again this year, the whole league will be on watch as Embiid could very well ask out himself considering how things have played out.
A disgruntled superstar watch would be in full effect if the reigning MVP shows any signs of discontent throughout the year, so the 76ers will likely need to make a move to appease him.
