On Sunday, NBA free agency will officially get underway in terms of teams being able to talk with free agents who are not currently on their roster, which means there could be a ton of player movement taking place before heading into July on Monday.
One notable team that will do everything within its power to make some substantial upgrades to its roster is the Philadelphia 76ers, who will be armed with a ton of cap space and aiming to surround stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey with the talent needed to compete with the heavyweights in the Eastern Conference moving forward.
As if the pressure wasn’t on already, with the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics looking like the team to beat for the next few years in the East, the New York Knicks recently acquired star Mikal Bridges in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets, making the East that much more competitive moving forward.
However, the 76ers are in a great position to make some solid moves this summer and thrust themselves into the title-contending conversation in the conference, with Embiid ecstatic about what Philadelphia can accomplish in NBA free agency, as he took to Twitter to express his excitement.

With superstar forward LeBron James more than likely re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, the 76ers will put all their energy and focus into signing fellow superstar Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers.
George is open to leaving the Clippers this summer, with Philadelphia seemingly being the favorite to sign him.
