Joey Gallo has had some bad luck in recent years due to the exaggerated shift.

With the shift now gone, the veteran slugger now has a chance for some more hits.

Some of the hits he has picked up in recent days, however, have nothing to do with the shift whatsoever.

In fact, Gallo has shown off some power in his first few games with the Minnesota Twins.

On Monday, he went deep against the Miami Marlins, which is his third in the past two games.

On Twitter, MLB posted a video of Gallo’s home run at loanDepot Park in Miami.

Gallo hit just .160 last season with the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Though he hit 19 home runs, his average has been down in recent years.

But he’s already hitting .308 on the young season and appears to have been a smart pickup for the Twins.

And he certainly didn’t miss this one in Miami.

The ball went pretty deep into right field and was simply a no-doubt homer off of Marlins starter Johnny Cueto.

In the end, the Twins cruised to an 11-1 victory in the series opener with Miami and remained undefeated as starter Tyler Mahle made those runs stand up with his dominant performance.

Minnesota will look to ride Gallo’s hot bat to a series win on Tuesday as they sent right-hander Kenta Maeda to the mound to face reigning NL Cy Young Sandy Alcantara.

The Twins are one of only two teams that remain undefeated as of now.

The Tampa Bay Rays have also won their first four games.
