The Baltimore Ravens are built on a stout defense, and every true fan of the team knows that it is on this unit that their Super Bowl aspirations rest.

Top cornerback Marlon Humphrey has been limited throughout the offseason with an undisclosed injury, but he is expected to be a full participant when the team reconvenes to prepare for the preseason.

The former All-Pro is a key component of the defense, though he has dealt with injuries throughout a career that began with being a 2017 first-round selection out of Alabama.

The Ravens reported on social media that Harbaugh told reporters that Humphrey should be “ready for training camp.”

Those injuries faded in 2019 when Humphrey produced a stellar campaign for the Ravens.

After that season, he was honored as an All-Pro and became the bedrock of a solid secondary in Baltimore.

Humphrey is expected to lead the team’s pass defense again in 2024 along with fellow cornerback Brandon Stephens, and he should have another important role as well.

In April, the Ravens drafted a pair of cornerbacks with first-round selection Nate Wiggins and fourth-rounder T.J. Tampa.

So far in 2024, Humphrey has been sidelined for almost all OTAs and the team’s mandatory minicamp.

Even when he was on the grass, he did not participate in the team’s 11-on-11 drills.

2023 was an up-and-down year for the cornerback.

He suffered a foot injury that kept him out of the lineup to start the season.

He also appeared for only 13 snaps in the AFC Championship Game and missed the previous two starts.
