The NBA world is eagerly watching the 2024 Paris Olympics as numerous players are representing their respective national teams in the tournament.
All eyes are on Team USA, though, as it brought a loaded roster to the tournament featuring LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.
The Americans also boast a deep bench led by Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis, giving them the perfect balance of scoring and defense.
In their recent win against Puerto Rico that clinched the No. 1 overall seed, head coach Steve Kerr opted to start Joel Embiid, Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum alongside James and Curry.
That group got off to a slow start, and the bench unit came in and immediately provided an offensive boost that helped Team USA win handily.
With how good the bench has looked during the Olympics, John Hollinger of The Athletic threw out a bold suggestion for what the starting lineup should be.
“What if we just make the second unit the starters,” Hollinger tweeted.

Hollinger isn’t the first person to suggest such a thing, though there’s no way that Kerr and his staff could ever think about benching James or Curry.
However, the other three spots should be up for grabs, as no one has yet to make the same sort of impact that Davis, Adebayo and Edwards have made so far.
Regardless of the combination that Kerr uses, Team USA will have a huge advantage in any matchup based on its depth of talent.
