The Cleveland Browns thought and hoped Johnny Manziel could be their savior and would put a stop to their revolving door at the quarterback position.
However, a perfect storm of bad situations colluded to make sure Manziel didn’t fulfill his potential, starting with his struggles with alcohol and depression.
But Johnny Football’s issues started long before he arrived in Berea.
In his recent tell-all interview with Shannon Sharpe for Club Shay Shay, the former Texas A&M star revealed that he went through every single walkthrough in college completely drunk.
“I felt like the harder I partied, the better I played,” Manziel said.

He acknowledged that he used to party hard and drink a lot on Tuesdays and Thursdays and then tried to sweat it out during the walkthrough.
He would later sleep on the plane and after meetings, and it wasn’t taking a toll on his game.
If anything, he was only getting better and better, so he obviously didn’t change his ways during his stay at College Station.
Manziel later made it to the league with some questionable habits he wasn’t able to shake off, stating that he seemed like he had lost himself trying to appease others, so he wound up resorting to other things like marijuana or alcohol to try and numb the pain.
Johnny Manziel has come a long way since he has been out of the league.
His journey was wild and short-lived, but he seems to be at peace with the man he is nowadays.
Hopefully, his history will inspire and serve as an example to other young athletes looking to make it in the league.
