One of the longest-tenured members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is wide receiver Mike Evans, who has spent each of his 10 NFL seasons with the team.
Before that, he played his college ball at Texas A&M University, where he starred with a then-promising quarterback named Johnny Manziel.
While on “The Rush” podcast, Manziel said that Evans might have made him the person that he is today.

In two years at Texas A&M, Evans caught 151 passes for 2,499 yards and 17 touchdowns, which led to him being the No. 7 pick in the 2014 draft.
In the NFL, he has made the Pro Bowl five times and has over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his ten seasons, all of which have been spent in Tampa Bay.
Last season, he had 79 catches, 1,255 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns, and those 13 touchdowns were tied for a league-high.
Manziel was also a star at College Station, but of course, his NFL story was a tragic one, as he played just 14 games over two seasons with the Cleveland Browns before injuries and personal problems forced him out of the league.
Evans was fortunate enough to win a Super Bowl championship in the 2020 season when Tom Brady came over from the New England Patriots, and now he’s playing with another QB who was disappointing as a Cleveland Brown: Baker Mayfield.
Mayfield finally put it all together last season and was named to the Pro Bowl, and he was rewarded this offseason with a three-year extension that will pay him up to $100 million.
