The Texas Rangers came into the 2023 season with something to prove after making some key offseason moves.

So far, the team is off to very good start, having won seven of their first 11 games to get themselves to the top of the American League West.

They engaged in a seesaw battle on Tuesday night against the Kansas City Royals.

Texas scored early and did their best to hold off a Royals rally.

Kansas City tied the game in the ninth and took the lead in the 10th, but Texas wasn’t done.

After Adolis Garcia tied the game with two outs, Jonah Heim came to the plate and delivered a clutch three-run homer to win it for the Rangers by a final score of 8-5, capping off a four-run inning.

On Twitter, MLB posted a video of the moment.

The Rangers are certainly off to a good start.

Heim is one of their key young players and is a big piece as the Rangers look to bounce back from a disappointing 2022 season.

The home run was Heim’s second of the season thus far.

The 27-year-old catcher is hitting .276 in 29 at-bats and has driven in six runs.

He also has an OPS of .817.

It was also the 28th home run of Heim’s career.

With the win, the Rangers stayed a game ahead of the Los Angeles Angels for first place in the AL West.

They’ll look for a sweep of the Royals on Wednesday as they send the newly signed Nathan Eovaldi to the mound.
