During the 2019 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals believed they had struck gold as they were finally able to bring in a quarterback with a promising future on the professional level in the form of Oklahoma Sooners superstar Kyler Murray.
Despite being only 5’10” and small in stature, the Cardinals were confident they had found the right man for the job to lead them back to playoff contender status in the NFC. He was virtually unstoppable for the University of Oklahoma, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2018.
Although Murray’s first season in Arizona was forgettable, the young quarterback really started to blossom and quickly became one of the best quarterbacks in the league with the ability to hurt opposing defenses through the air and in the ground game.
Murray went to consecutive Pro Bowls and seemed to make the Cardinals relevant again until injuries struck.
Fortunately for Arizona, Murray is healthy heading into the 2024 campaign, but head coach Jonathan Gannon won’t be playing his star quarterback during the NFL preseason, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Murray has had his fair share of injury problems throughout his career, so there’s no need to risk his health during meaningless games ahead of Week 1.
On September 8, Murray and company will travel to Highmark Stadium to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, which will be a tough challenge right out of the gate for the Cardinals.
