The 2023 season didn’t go according to plan for the Arizona Cardinals.
Despite starting over with new head coach Jonathan Gannon, the Cardinals went 4-13, turning in one of the worst records in the NFL.
Sure, this poor record allowed them to select Marvin Harrison Jr. with the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, but it also meant that this team has a lot of work to do.
They dealt with injuries up and down their lineup, but even with a stud prospect like Harrison in the mix, analysts and fans aren’t giving them much of a chance to make the playoffs, much less have a snowball’s chance of winning the Super Bowl.
Gannon might be familiar with this way of thinking, but he can’t say that at a podium.
In a recent press conference shared by Sirius XM NFL Radio on Twitter, Gannon was nothing but positive about the Cardinals’ chances moving forward.
“If we play our game, to our standard, we can play with anybody,” Gannon said confidently.

He believes that he and his staff have curated a great plan, and as long as the team executes it to perfection, they should have nothing to worry about.
Of course, Gannon had similar optimism heading into the 2023 campaign, but the team was unable to fulfill those expectations.
Gannon couldn’t have predicted how many of their key players would get injured, which was a major reason for the Cardinals’ derailment down the stretch.
How will they fare in a new year when the majority of their best players are fully healthy?
