Against all odds and after a rough patch during the season, the Green Bay Packers are headed to the playoffs.

The first year of the post-Aaron Rodgers era couldn’t have ended on a higher note, and his replacement seems to be peaking at the right time.

As a matter of fact, Jordan Love was named the NFC’s offensive player of the week for the second consecutive week, and it was far from a surprise.

The first-year starter was on point all day long in the divisional rivalry win over the Chicago Bears, posting a 128.6 passer rating with 316 passing yards and two touchdowns on 27-of-32 completions (84.4%).

Love has managed to silence all his critics and doubters in just his first year as a full-time starter.

He hadn’t been impressive on limited snaps during Rodgers’ tenure in charge of the team, but the front office was patient with him and raved about his development and growth.

That bet has paid off already, as it seems like they’ve found their next franchise quarterback.

The Packers have a long-withstanding tradition of elite quarterbacks.

And while finding three consecutive Hall of Famers seemed to be almost impossible — and even though we’re still a ways away from that — Love doesn’t seem to be bothered or fazed by the pressure.

He managed to get back to basics after hitting a bit of a wall mid-season, and while he has a tough task ahead of him when he visits the Dallas Cowboys, he plays like the kind of guy who doesn’t have anything to lose.
