The Golden State Warriors were inches away from tying Game 1 vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jordan Poole failed to hit a wide-open 3-pointer with eight seconds left in the game.

And while some believe it was a wild shot and he should’ve taken a couple of steps forward, Poole has no regrets about the shot.

“Good look. Catch and shoot. Open. I just missed it,” Poole said, courtesy of The Mercury News. “I’ll shoot it again, too, the next time we play and I get the same shot.”

Truth be told, things could’ve gone differently if he had decided to kick the ball back to another teammate or if Steve Kerr had used one of his timeouts.

But Poole has the right mindset about that shot.

It was a long-range shot, but he’s made plenty of 30-footers in his brief career.

Also, the Warriors pay him to take those kinds of shots, so why would he hesitate when the game was on the line?

Poole had 21 points at the time, including six 3-pointers.

The Warriors have always been a 3-point-happy team, so they’ll gladly live and die by it if that’s what it comes down to.

Also, the Lakers could’ve just decided to foul him, and he would’ve never gotten another wide-open look before the end of the game, so blaming him for the loss is unfair and inaccurate.

The Warriors will need as much help and production from all their role players as they can get, and you better believe he’s going to take another 30-footer if they leave him open.
