Jordan Walker just keeps on hitting.

The 20-year-old top prospect made the Opening Day roster for the St. Louis Cardinals and has hit the ground running.

St. Louis climbed out of a 6-2 hole on Tuesday night against the Colorado Rockies, overcoming a rough start by Miles Mikolas to pull out a 9-6 win.

And Walker stayed hot at the plate, picking up a base-hit, which extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

He’s now just one back of tying Eddie Murphy‘s record of 12 straight games with a hit to start his career for players the age of 20 or younger, which was set in 1912.

On Twitter, the Cardinals celebrated Walker’s continued success.

Walker’s base-hit on Tuesday also extended his club record.

While things haven’t been easy as of late for the Cardinals, one player that they have been able to lean on is Walker.

The 20-year-old helped the team out in a big way on Tuesday as the bats finally woke up and produced some timely hits to secure what could be the win of the year thus far for St. Louis.

The team remained four games back of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central.

The only major offensive addition this past winter for the Cardinals was Willson Contreras.

However, Walker has shown thus far that signing Contreras may have been all they needed to improve their offense.

The slugger appears to have provided the team with its missing link offensively.

The Cardinals will try for a series win on Wednesday afternoon with Jack Flaherty on the mound.
