RJ Barrett spent years playing for the New York Knicks and was a fan favorite up until he was traded to the Toronto Raptors a few weeks ago.

Barrett and his Raptors are set to fly down to New York City this Saturday to play against the Knicks and he will likely receive a warm welcome from fans.

But one Knicks player jokingly said he’s going to give him a hard time.

“I’m going to boo him for sure!” Josh Hart said on Twitter about Barrett’s upcoming trip to the Big Apple.

In all reality, Hart and the rest of the Knicks will be happy to see Barrett even though he doesn’t play with them anymore.

Barrett became a crucial part of the team during his five seasons playing for the Knicks.

He averaged 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during his time in New York.

Ultimately, the Knicks didn’t see Barrett as a long-term priority so he was sent up north to the Raptors and he has been thriving since.

He’s only been in Toronto for nine games but he has recorded 20.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists so far.

The Raptors are a team in transition, trying to figure out what their future looks like and who will be the main stars on the roster.

Barrett has a chance to become even more important to the Raptors and this could be the beginning of a big, exciting chapter in his career.

Barrett’s time with the Knicks has come to an end but it seems like there are no hard feelings between him and his former team.

Hart joked that he will boo Barrett this weekend but he will likely be happy to see his old friend, even though he’ll try to beat him.
