Josh Hart and his New York Knicks are no longer in the NBA playoffs but he is still paying close attention to every game.
Sitting in on “The Pivot,” Hart listed the five best players who are still in the postseason right now.
In a surprising move, he chose Boston Celtics star Derrick White over his teammate, Jayson Tatum.
Hart’s reasoning was clear: White is more impactful for the Celtics, especially during the final few moments of the fourth quarter and overtime (via NBACentral).

White is having his best year ever, averaging 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in the regular season and 17.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists during the playoffs.
As Hart said, White is a crucial part of the Celtics’ success and is a strong defensive unit for the team.
This has been clear repeatedly, including in the final game against the Indiana Pacers a few days ago.
White may not be the biggest player on the floor but he blocks and limits other players as if he’s much bigger.
Hart is very confident about choosing White over Tatum, but this choice will get pushback from others.
It also shows that everyone doesn’t always consider Tatum the clear favorite in Boston.
He is obviously a very talented star but he has his shortcomings and the success of the team often relies on the work and skill of players such as White.
The Celtics are once again heading to the NBA Finals and they have a very good chance of winning it all.
Their chances are greatly improved if White is going to keep playing as he has.
He might not get as much press and attention as Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but Hart and others believe he’s the secret key to the team claiming a championship.
