The current state of the running back situation has been a widely discussed topic throughout the NFL offseason.

Josh Jacobs has been at odds with the Las Vegas Raiders after not reaching a contract extension.

As a result, he hasn’t been seen at training camp, away from the team as they prepare for the upcoming year.

That has now changed, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal via Dov Kleiman.

As this report indicates, Jacobs’ holdout is slated to end, and he’ll return to team activities before the season begins.

What does this mean for the Raiders?

For starters, it means they have Jacobs back in this offense, fresh off leading the league in rushing during the 2022 season.

Jacobs was one of the most valuable members of the Raiders last season, giving them an offensive spark.

For a team that finished the year with a 6-11 record, any help they can get on offense is much-needed.

He’ll now be a vital asset for new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, assisting him with check-downs along with establishing the run.

With any luck, Jacobs will continue his dominant ways even though he hasn’t been with the team for a few weeks.

Whether he’ll be able to perform similarly in 2022 remains to be seen.

If he does, there’s no telling what the ceiling will be for the new-look Raiders under the first year of Garoppolo’s tenure.

Assuming this report comes to fruition, Raiders fans can breathe a massive sigh of relief for the 2023 season.

Jacobs is back.
