It seems as if every day another quarterback gets a huge contract extension, with Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars becoming the highest-paid QB just weeks ago Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins and Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers both getting massive paydays just a few days after training camp has kicked off.

Joy Taylor recently suggested that one quarterback who is yet to get his contract extension should leave his current team.

On a recent episode of Speak, Taylor said that she doesn’t believe Dak Prescott should want to stay with the Dallas Cowboys, saying “I think we’d talk so highly of Dak if Dak wasn’t in Dallas.”

Taylor provided a contrast and pointed out how everyone speaks about Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, who continues to get huge contracts and is well-liked by fans and his peers despite having one playoff win in 12 years.

It’s a fair point, as Prescott is walking around with a “30-year boulder on his back” as Taylor said in reference to the Cowboys not making an NFC Championship game since 1995, and he receives a ton of scrutiny for his playoff shortcomings despite being consistently one of the league’s best QBs and coming off a year where he threw 36 touchdowns with just nine interceptions.

If the Cowboys don’t want to pay him, another team would surely be happy to, and it would be interesting to see how he’d be treated in a different market or if he’d eventually have more playoff success.
