The New York Jets are probably the biggest story in the NFL this season, and for good reason.
They traded for future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers this offseason while also bringing in wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, three of Rodgers’ old friends while with the Green Bay Packers.
For good measure, New York also signed four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook more recently.
They seem to have legitimate Super Bowl potential on paper, but some are skeptical that they will actually be successful in real life.
Joy Taylor was asked on “Speak” if the Jets are legit Super Bowl contenders, and she said yes, if for no other reason than the fact that there is a precedent for a star QB winning it all in his first year with a new team.

She mentioned how Tom Brady won the Super Bowl in 2020, his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Matthew Stafford got the Los Angeles Rams a Vince Lombardi Trophy the following season right after being traded there.
The big concern with Rodgers is that he may be on the downside of his career.
After winning the league MVP in 2020 and 2021, his numbers took a noticeable decline last season, and it’s an open question whether that decline was due to wear and tear or simply because the Packers had traded star wide receiver Davante Adams the previous offseason.
Luckily, Rodgers will have the benefit of a defense that finished fourth in points and total yards allowed last season, and that should take some pressure off him.
But he will still need to regain his old form if the Jets are to even reach the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 2010, let alone win it all.
