Jrue Holiday’s path through the NBA has been filled with a few surprises and changes that people didn’t see coming.
But he is now in the best position he’s ever been in and on the verge of possibly winning a championship in a few weeks.
The Boston Celtics star spoke with NBC Sports Boston about his trade to the team and the path that got him here.
“I’m supposed to be here,” Holiday said.
“This was what was supposed to happen… I’m supposed to be here”

Holiday started his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2009.
After several years there, he moved to the New Orleans Pelicans before heading to the Milwaukee Bucks.
He was a big part of that team and was very close with Giannis Antetokounmpo and others.
This is why so many people were surprised when he was traded last summer.
He first got sent to the Portland Trail Blazers but only stayed there for a few days before being shipped out to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams, and draft picks.
This all worked out very well for Holiday and the Celtics.
He was part of a powerful team that wanted him and the Celtics had a starter who could score well and also defend with great skill.
Since coming to the Celtics, Holiday has been a huge help for the team.
Therefore, it was no surprise to see him sign a contract extension with them in April.
Now the Celtics are in the Finals, Holiday is playing incredibly well, and everything that came before this season seems like destiny to reach this point.
Holiday already earned one championship with the Bucks; will he get a second with the Celtics in a few weeks?
