This past summer, things got a bit crazy in the NBA, with several title-contending teams making game-changing moves to improve their rosters for the 2023-24 campaign and well beyond.
One team that seemed to be more aggressive than most was the Boston Celtics, who drew first blood during the NBA offseason by acquiring veteran scorer Kristaps Porzings in a deal with the Washington Wizards.
Bringing in Porzingis was an interesting move by the Celtics, considering his injury history, but ultimately seemed to be a move in the right direction, even if it didn’t drastically move the needle at the time.
However, Boston wasn’t done there as they saw the Milwaukee Bucks bring in Damian Lillard and countered by acquiring Jrue Holiday in a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, which really turned heads across the league as it could be argued that the Celtics were now the best team on both ends of the floor.
A few weeks into the regular season, and the Celtics are sitting pretty atop the Eastern Conference standings, but Holiday is still a bit upset that he didn’t get a heads up from the Bucks before all this movement took place, which he admitted before tonight’s showdown with Milwaukee in Boston, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps via Legion Hoops.

It seems as though Holiday has an axe to grind, and it’s hard to blame him with the Bucks discarding him the way they did this past summer, but he has landed on his feet in Boston and seemingly couldn’t be in a better situation to win another title before he calls it a career.
Tonight’s game in Boston will be interesting, as Holiday will almost certainly want to leave his mark on this game against his former team.
