The New York Knicks have gotten off to a slow start to the season, winning just two of their seven games thus far.

And while it’s hard to put the blame on just one individual, star PF Julius Randle has left a lot to be desired with his play in the early season.

When asked about that, the former lottery pick admitted that he’s just not in rhythm right now, adding that he’s kind of pressing right now because he knows his shot isn’t falling at the moment (via Fred Katz).

Julius Randle: “I’m just not in rhythm. Not in rhythm, everything just seems a little bit off, you just start pressing a little bit, but like I said, I’ve just gotta stay with it. Keep working.” Randle also reiterated he’s “seeing a lot of bodies” down low on his drives.

Randle is currently averaging 13.7 points on 27.1% shooting and 22.% from beyond the arc.

He’s contributing on the glass with 10.5 rebounds per game, which would be a career-high for a full season if he’s able to sustain that level of production.

Randle is coming off the second All-Star season of his career, and he’s currently averaging 12 fewer points than last season, so the team is obviously hurting right now.

It’s also worth noting that the Knicks have had a tough schedule to start the season, facing the likes of the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and New Orleans Pelicans, as well as back-to-back matchups with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It’s still early, but this could become a worrisome trend, as Randle has a history of having a tough time bouncing back.
